Technology gleaned from our semiconductor business helped our Kayex® business create furnaces specifically for use in growing the silicon crystals used in solar panel manufacturing. The solar industry-specific furnaces are now being used by customers in Norway, Finland, Korea and the United States.
SPX is also benefitting the wind power industry with our expertise in the aviation obstruction lighting. Our Flash Technology business now produces obstruction lighting solutions specifically for wind turbines to protect the turbines and the airspace they occupy.
