Knowledge Made Easy
Knowledge is the key to success. That is why at SPX, our solutions include a variety of engineering technical services, as well as technical services training programs.
Passing Along Our Know-how
Many SPX companies offer hands-on training in the use of their products and technologies. Depending on the SPX company and specific training required, technical services training programs can be held at the customer site or at an SPX training facility.
Some SPX businesses also offer certification or other training programs for service and repair professionals, ensuring that the quality that goes into making our products is complemented by the service that maintains them.
Among them:
A series of Load Tap Changer (LTC) maintenance training courses from Waukesha Electric Systems which teach product-specific skills to accurately troubleshoot and repair transmission and distribution system equipment
The Weil-McLain® School of Better Heating, which conducts two-day sessions that focus on Weil-McLain HVAC equipment and technology
Training for cable detection operators and other personnel from Radiodetection®, available at the customer’s site or at Radiodetection headquarters
Nothing is Too Technical
SPX companies also provide a wide range of engineering technical services.
Valley Forge, part of SPX Service Solutions, has a long history as a supplier to the automotive industry. That includes helping customers produce the information that supports their service organizations and dealerships — service manuals, parts catalogs, wiring diagrams, owner's literature and more. In recent years, the company has expanded its expertise into capital equipment and energy.
At Thermal Product Solutions® (TPS), our team can work with customers to design an oven, furnace or environmental chamber to the customers’ exact specifications before they invest in capital equipment. TPS engineers and designers have improved hundreds of chamber and oven designs for environmental, pharmaceutical, photovoltaic and continuous process applications.
Extensive laboratory capabilities enable our Lightnin® brand team to model a customer’s process through computational fluid dynamics analysis to provide an optimal solution. In addition, laser-assisted technology is used to identify the optimum impeller design and blade configuration for specific applications.
